Hi everyone! Hope you had a great summer! Our registration night will be on Sept. 22 at the Lumsden Centenial Hall. I will repost the time as soon as I find it out. Our starskate program starts Sept. 22nd from 4-6pm.

Our Canskate program will begin Thursday Oct.13 6:15-7pm.

If you can't make it to the registration night you can register on the first night of skating.

I will be posting the registration form soon so you can print it off and bring it with you if that is more convenient.

Lumsden Skating Club Ice Carnival March 27^th 2011

“GLEE”

Dear parents, it is that time again for our ice carnival! This year has flown by so fast and it is time to work on our final show. This years carnival will be on Sunday, March 27^that 1pm -3pm. Our Theme this year is “GLEE”. We would like to ask that all skaters, except for pre-power skaters start attending both Monday and Thursday classes starting on Monday Feb. 28^th. Our dress rehearsal will be on Monday March 21^st, we ask that your child comes to this in full costume because we will also be doing photos this day. We will be starting dress rehearsal at 5:30pm. You will need to have your child’s skates on at least 5 min. before they are to go on the ice, following their skate they will be getting their photos done and then you can leave as soon as they are done. PLEASE be sure to be at the rink before 5:30 and if you don’t think you can make it before then please let me know so we can run through all of the other groups before your childs.

For our raffle table this year we are again asking each parent to bring one item to raffle off. You have the option of buying an item or getting it donated.

There will be 1 photo package this year which will include – 1 8x10 collage with group & individual photo, 2 4x6’s and 8 wallets for $25. We will be collecting money for the photos on Thursday March 17th. If you aren’t going to be at skating this day you can bring your money before this date and give to Nikki or on the day of the rehearsal.

We will have a sign up sheet at the rink for set up, raffle table and doors. We will also need a parent-rep form each canskate group to be in charge of making sure everyone in their group is ready to go on the ice at the appropriate time. Please let me know who the parent-rep is for your group by March 14^th. Everyone is obligated to sign up for at least one thing and if you do not mark your name down, we will mark you down where we need you. We also ask that at the end of the show that every skater participate in the Grand Finale and all families stay to help clean up. If you are working the raffle table you are not expected to sit at it if your child is skating, you can leave the table and watch your child skate and return when they have finished.

I am including the groups and the song that the group will be skating to so you can start figuring out costumes and so you can get your parent-rep figured out as well. Please let me know if there are any spelling errors for your child’s name so we can have the correct spelling on the program.

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas! The Lumsden Skating Club executive would like to thank everyone for doing such a great job with our fundraiser this year!! We appreciate your hard work and thank you for helping us keep our fees down.

Just a quick reminder to those who either bought out or did not fulfill their fundraising obligation, your cheques will be getting cashed on Friday Dec. 31st.

Lumsden Skating Club Ice Carnival March 28^th 2010

“Music Legends”

Dear parents, it is that time again for our ice carnival! This year has flown by so fast and it is time to work on our final show. The carnival will be on Sunday, March 28^that 1pm -3pm. Our Theme this year is “Music Legends”. We would like to ask that all skaters start attending both Monday and Thursday classes starting on Monday March 8^th. Our dress rehearsal will be on Thursday March 25^th, we ask that your child comes to this in full costume because I will also be doing photos this day. We will be doing dress rehearsal in 15 min. intervals this year so you child’s group will have a specific time that they will be on the ice. You will need to have your child’s skates on at least 5 min. before the time they are to go on the ice, following their skate they will be getting their photos done and then you can leave as soon as they are done.

For our raffle table this year we are again asking each parent to bring one item to raffle off. You have the option of buying an item or getting it donated. We are including a letter for businesses for you to have if you are wanting to get it donated.

I will be also offering aluminum water bottles with your child’s individual photo on it for $25. If you would like the water bottle you can let me know when you bring your money. Hello CanSkate and StarSkate Families!

As we near the end of our first session of skating for the 2009-2010 season, the Lumsden Skating Club would like to say thank you to all the parents, skaters and supporters for another great season of skating! Our recent Mom's Pantry fundraiser was a huge success! Thanks to all of you and your efforts - your hard work on this fundraising campaign is deeply appreciated. CanSkate Session II is coming up soon, starting the third week of January (see dates below). We will be holding registration nights on the first days of CanSkate Session II or feel free to contact Nikki or Lizette to take care of registering skaters any time before then.

Some important dates to note:

* Thursday, December 17th - Last Day of CanSkate for Thursday Skaters

* Monday, December 21st - Last Day of CanSkate for Monday Skaters; Last Day of StarSkate

* Monday, January 4th - StarSkate Session II begins

Parents, please return forms for our Poker Night Fundraiser by the first week of CanSkate Session II to Nikki Kish, Lizette Fischer or any other Executive Member. We are anticipating another successful fundraising campaign and would like to thank you all in advance for your efforts. In addition, the Executive would like to thank all of you for your recent input regarding the skating program - your suggestions are being considered and we are using them to build a stronger, more well-balanced program for our skaters. If you missed the opportunity to fill out a parent survey at the last two CanSkate nights, please contact Lizette Fischer to get a survey. As always, the Executive welcomes all parents to voice their opinions and suggestions at any time during the skating season by email or by letting a member of the Executive know of any concerns or feedback. At least one of our Executive Board is usually at the rink from 4-7p m every Monday and Thursday and we encourage all parents to stay involved with our Club.

Regina Beach registration night

Hi everyone, for those of you from Regina Beach and area, I will be at the registration night there on Wed., Sept. 23 at 7pm at SSS for you to come register your child for skating. For those of you who can not make either registration nights you will be able to register your child on the first day of skating. Just a reminder that your child will not be allowed on the ice until your form and money is received.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great summer! It's getting closer the that time of the year again! Our skating registration will be on September 10 at 7pm in the basement of the Centenial hall.

As you all might know, we have lost the concession duties which in turn means or ice time fees are going up quite a bit. To make up for the increase, skating fees will go up by about $5-$10 since I have found an extra fundraiser we can do this year. Before you all start to panic, don't worry because the extra fundraiser we are going to be doing is a poker night at Casino Regina. All we have to do sell the tickets for this event and we make 50% of all moneys made from this event!! We only have to sell 100 tickets so we will be giving each family 2 tickets to sell!! That is it! We will still be doing Mom's pantry as well since this is a great fundraiser that we also rely on.

I can't wait for this season to start!! I just want to thank you all in advance for putting your child in skating and for supporting and keeping or club going!!

I am looking forward to being your club president this year and if anyone one ever has any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
